The Department of Africana Studies at the University of Notre Dame is pleased to present this fourth in a series of annual symposia intended to address issues related to African Americans. As has been the case with many of our other sponsored events, its goal is to create opportunities for members of the Notre Dame and greater Michiana communities to gather, enjoy fellowship, and reflect—as members of a single extended family—on matters that have a direct bearing on our common life.
It is our hope that this evening we will engage in a conversation that is informative and generative of creative ideas for dealing with African Americans and popular culture.
