Student Activities
Africana Studies Club
Membership in the Africana Studies Club is intended for any undergraduate student attending the University of Notre Dame. Africana Studies club members are interested in advancing their education and knowledge of African Diasporan life, culture, and traditions through activities and projects that complement classroom experiences. Graduate and professional students are also encouraged to become active participants as club advisors and mentors to club members.
Club members focus on the development of activities that support ethnic and cultural interaction through shared experiences. In previous years, Africana Studies has subsidized or assumed the full expense for cultural exchanges and interactive experiences.
Faculty and staff expectations are for club members to support Department activities via attendance and engagement in its activities including faculty searches, programs, Peters Fellowship support, and focus group discussions. Club members plan, manage, and develop activities and programs in consultation with Africana Studies faculty and staff.
