Africana Studies Mentoring Fellowship
The goal in creating the Africana Studies Fellowship was to provide an opportunity for Notre Dame graduate students, whose work focuses on Africana topics, to advance their scholarly work by joining a community of scholars from a variety of disciplines and experience.
The fellowship is tenable for a full academic year beginning in October and concluding in May. It carries with it a $2500 research budget. Fellows have access to all university facilities and are provided office space, use of a personal computer. Fellows also participate in professional development workshops focused on employment strategies and career development.
The Fellowship program, administered by both the Graduate School and the Department of Africana Studies, invites applications from graduate students at the University of Notre Dame in the arts, humanities, social sciences, and theological disciplines who have completed all degree requirements with the exception of the dissertation. Applications for the fellowship are due: (February 15, 2010).
